When I was growing up, we (and by “we” I mean my mother) usually selected a tie for our dad for Father’s Day. He wore ties about twice a year, so that’s how useful that gift was.
Father’s Day is a hard holiday to purchase gifts for, because most dads are pretty independent, and if they need something they will get it for themselves. Unless it’s a hearing test. So if you want to find the perfect gift for the dads in your life, you have to think of something they don’t know they want.
Here are a few ideas that will hopefully spark your creativity as you think outside the box this Father’s Day.
Coasters
Dads love their drinks, whether it’s old-fashioned root beer or whiskey, neat. To keep it neat, give dad a set of cool coasters that double as rustic decor for his den (or the living room coffee table, for those of us who aren’t fancy).
These “Dadvice” coasters sport groan-worthy dad jokes and are the perfect Father’s Day gift for your standard goofy dad.

If your father is too classy for punny furniture protection, you could go for something more abstract, like this geometrically-inspired set of wooden coasters.
Outdoor Liquor Lighting
If your father loves his deck and his drinks, these boozy bottle lanterns might be just the thing to get him for Father’s Day.

These manly lanterns are filled with solar-powered LED fairy lights. They charge while the sun is out, and a sensor turns them on when dusk falls.
Get one in Dad’s favorite liquor or line several up for next-level outdoor bar lighting!
Tie Card
Hear me out: I think this is a hilarious concept and if you have a competitive dad (whether he tosses footballs or martials his pawns or holds the high score on GTA) you might too.
If I explain the joke it won’t be funny, so just see it for yourself.
You can grab one of these here.
Dads, help us out. What do you really want for Father’s Day?
