The waters are rough tonight,
But I’ve been at sea before;
I’ve been at sea when the waves were slung like a gavel on the shore.
The moon is dark tonight,
But I’ve trudged by the light of a single star
And the place where I need to be is seldom far.
My tears fall thick and fast tonight
And sobs steal my breath away,
But I’m promised tomorrow will be a fresh, new day.
